OXFORD, UK — September 25, 2026
Oxford Cancer Analytics (OXcan), the diagnostics company combining advanced proteomics with artificial intelligence, today announced the appointment of Dr Heiner Dreismann as Chairman of the Board.
Dr Dreismann has spent more than four decades in the life sciences and diagnostics industries and played a significant role in the early adoption and commercialisation of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology. He joined Roche in 1985 and, following its acquisition of rights to PCR technology in 1991, became one of the architects of the company’s Molecular Diagnostics business. He served as Head of the PCR Business Unit for Europe and led global strategic planning for PCR diagnostics before becoming President and CEO of Roche Molecular Systems from 2000 to 2006. He also served as Head of Global Business Development for Roche Diagnostics and as a member of its Global Diagnostics Executive Committee.
Dr Dreismann holds a PhD in Microbiology/Molecular Biology, summa cum laude, from the University of Münster, Germany, and completed postdoctoral research at the French Centre for Nuclear Research in Saclay. He currently serves on the boards of public and private life sciences and healthcare companies in the United States, Europe and Israel.
"OXcan is advancing from scientific validation towards clinical implementation," said Simon Meier, CEO of OXcan. "That is a specific transition, and Heiner has led it in a global diagnostics business. His experience will be exceptionally valuable as we bring the company into its next phase."
"What attracted me to OXcan is the scale of the opportunity," said Dr Dreismann. "Lung disease diagnostics needs to move towards more advanced risk assessment without adding complexity for clinicians or health systems. OXcan's technology has the potential to do that. The work ahead is to turn the science into a product that can become part of routine care, and I look forward to supporting the team on it."
Dr Dreismann succeeds Brad Wilson, who is stepping down to focus on other commitments. "Brad believed in OXcan when it was still an idea, and he has been with us from the founding to today," said Dr Andreas Halner, Co-Founder of OXcan. "He gave us his guidance and his support at crucial moments. I am grateful for his mentorship, and for all the help he provided over the years to turn the vision into reality."
